About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a global leader in outsourced scientific solutions that supports top pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations with large-scale onsite laboratory operations. This organization is known for delivering high-quality analytical, QC, and scientific support services directly within client facilities, ensuring continuity, compliance, and operational excellence.
They are seeking a dynamic Site Director to lead one of their flagship New York operations. This is a high-visibility, strategic leadership role overseeing a multidisciplinary scientific team embedded within a major pharmaceutical partner.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for a large onsite scientific workforce.
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture with a focus on mentorship, development, and retention.
- Oversee workforce planning, staffing, training, performance management, and succession planning.
- Drive operational efficiency across all laboratory and QC/analytical workflows.
- Manage KPIs, quality systems, compliance metrics, and delivery timelines.
- Ensure all site operations meet regulatory, GxP, and client-specific quality standards.
- Oversee laboratory processes, resource utilization, equipment management, and operational readiness.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for client leadership, ensuring alignment on goals, expectations, and project outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders, promoting trust and long-term collaboration.
- Respond proactively to client needs, issues, and opportunities, ensuring exceptional service delivery.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce bottlenecks, and enhance scientific quality and turnaround times.
- Lead and support initiatives in Lean, Six Sigma, and operational modernization.
- Implement scalable processes and best practices across the site.
- Support senior leadership in identifying strategic growth opportunities and workforce expansions.
- Provide insights on scientific operations, performance trends, and client satisfaction.
- Represent the organization at client meetings, internal leadership events, and cross-functional discussions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field required); advanced degree preferred.
- 7–10+ years of experience in QC, analytical labs, scientific operations, or related environments.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing large scientific teams (20+ staff preferred).
- Strong background in GxP-regulated operations (GMP, GLP or GCP).
- Demonstrated success in client-facing roles within pharma, biotech, CDMO, CRO, or scientific service organizations.
- Proven ability to develop teams, improve operations, and maintain high-quality standards.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
