Associate Director Cellular Pharmacology

We are currently partnered with a leading drug discovery CRO, with offices across the UK, U.S and Canada that looking to hire an Associate Director of Cellular Pharmacology to lead this well-established team.

Due to several acquisitions they have seen exceptional levels of growth across their global teams with more growth planned throughout 2025.

This position will involve overseeing a team of 19 people within the cellular pharmacology unit, with 3 direct reports.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical oversight across the cell biology team
• Develop a growth and development strategy for the team
• Schedule work plans with agreed timelines to ensure objectives are met
• Line management – provide a leading role in resource management, recruitment and development of team members
• Regular interaction with key stakeholders across the senior leadership team
• Involved with pitching for new business and project initiation & retention
• Co-ordinate delivery of high-quality scientific data and provide direction to project teams

Requirements:

• PhD in Cell Biology (or similar)
• Vast experience working in Drug Discovery within a CRO environment
• Previous experience line managing teams with oversight of sizeable teams (10+ people)
• Proven track record of providing strategic input into operational activities and process improvement
• Strong experience in directing cell-based assays, cell line generation and receptor biology.
• Experience in GPCR research
• Extensive experience of project leadership
